TimeTable 3 pour Mac

This software is brilliant, and has become my go-to solution for hourly billing. I even have Mac Calenders integrated with BusyCal and it all syncs via iCloud on to iPhone, iPad and MacBookPro - so keeping track of billable hours (and time spent otherwise) is a click and some typing away. I set up individual "calendars" for each project, by name, and then write in a short name (just to be safe) and what the time block is to be billed for. Example: calendar description hours sony sony des rev+emails .5 .5 At the end of the month, I just run a search on text string "sony" and every billable hour is waiting - and totalled up. Can then export to text, dump the text into a statement (or add as an attachment) and it's done. Also Steven Riggs has been super-responsive and dead on with customer support. The software could perhaps use a facelift if you're picky, but it's still working fine under OS X Mavericks 10.9

Inquiry: Does this program READ ONLY from the iCal database/files or also WRITE to it? Why am I asking: I once tested the competing software TimeLog, and it used the events' URL fields to store its management data. (timelog://…) In an inquiry in May 2012 to the producing software company Media Atelier, they had answered me this: 1) a) TimeLog does not overwrite URL fields. (I am not so sure wether this was actually true. I had no backup, but AFAIR, some events which now have timelog:// URLs have had custom URLs before…) b) If it was true, it's also bad. Because in consequence that means that events with custom URLs cannot be managed by TimeLog! It is an absolute valid use case to use an URL field for an event (My coworkers and me link to our meeting minutes with the URL, and I post my own individual notes, into the summary and the comment section) c) They also did not think of protecting old URLs within the new URL, i.e. timelog:// < timelogSpecificUrlString(s) > & backup= 2) The software offers no way to remove its proprietary URLs. I hate that. Software which interacts with shared data, shall at best not change it at all (if another app, such as iCal is considered the "master app", and itself only a "client" app), or if it alters data, at least backup old data (idea: in an URL fragment), and offer a way to properly restore the original data, in case you later don't use the software anymore.

For an independent contractor this is a perfect app for collecting task and time information from iCal to prepare client billings. It is simple, does exactly what it promises to do, and isn't cluttered with excess features. Very good value for money.

It would be nice if I could fix different rates to different calendars. I'll keep my eye on this app.
